Hi there, and welcome to the Busy Little Bee Books community!
I’m Lana – a passionate primary school educator and proud mum of two amazing boys who inspired me to create Busy Little Bee Books.
As a teacher and a mum, I know just how important it is for little ones to build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy from an early age. That’s why I wanted to create something special: a high-quality, hands-on, and fun Busy Book designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning for kids. I also wanted it to be accessible for parents, affordable, and aligned with the Australian Curriculum – and so, the idea for Busy Little Bee Books was born!
It all started when I began designing fine motor skill activities for my eldest son. Watching him explore and grow with each activity was truly magical – his curiosity and excitement were contagious! We’d sit together, working on what he liked to call his "Busy Bee work," and it quickly became the best part of our day. I honestly thought the novelty of the activities would wear off, but instead, he kept coming back for more – even wanting to show his friends and take his Busy Book with him wherever we went.
As I developed The Ultimate Busy Little Bee Book, I shared the idea with healthcare professionals, and their support was overwhelming. The feedback I received was extremely positive and the books are now proudly endorsed by a Paediatric Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, and Speech Pathologist. Their approval means the world to me and gives you, as a caregiver, the confidence that your child will benefit in many ways – from building fine motor skills to recognizing letters, understanding sounds, and developing pre-writing skills.
Busy Little Bee Books are perfect for kids aged 2-7 and cater to various learning abilities. Each activity is designed on a learning gradient, which means, as your child progresses, the challenges within each activity grow with them. All whilst keeping learning fun and positive as well as providing opportunities for one on one connection.
